"The program designed to stimulate and challenge
your curious, creative preschooler."
HISTORY: Animal Crackers Nursery School was established in 1978. We are committed to providing high quality programming to our families. Our school house is designed with your child in mind ensuring safety, cleanliness, and a warm, cozy environment. We offer a developmental program allowing your child to learn and grow at his or her own pace. Our curriculum goals are aligned with the Massachusetts Guidelines for Preschool, the Kindergarten Frameworks and The Creative Curriculum. Children are assessed on an ongoing basis with Parent Teacher Conferences held at least twice each year. Individual portfolios of children's work as well as personal checklists are kept as part of our assessment system. Our team of professionals strive to provide the best preschool care and education to each child entrusted to us combined with an unsurpassed environment of caring.
STAFF MEMBERS: Our professional staff of Early Childhood Educators is certified in their positions by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. All are certified in First Aid as well as CPR and participate in an ongoing program of staff training and development. Our executive director, owner and co-founder has a Masters of Child Development from Wheelock College and is actively involved in the daily implementation of our program. Our teachers are chosen for their credentials including qualities of expertise, warmth and appreciation for young children.
PHYSICAL SETTING: Our learning areas are thoughtfully designed and include materials which will guide children's learning in the creative arts, language arts, mathematics, sciences, technology/engineering, history & social studies and health education. We also adopted a formalized Social Emotional Curriculum. Our spacious, fenced in, natural playground provides physical challenges as well as opportunities for the exploration of nature throughout the seasons.
FAMILY INVOLVEMENT: Our Parent Group is an active association sponsoring special events and enrichment for our families. A Holiday Luncheon, Bring Someone You Love to School Day, Giving Tree hat/mitten collection and Parenting Workshops are examples of their contribution to our families. Our Parent Group also provides enrichment events during class time. In addition parents are encouraged to participate directly in their child's classroom or to view their child using the observation window. Weekly newsletters will keep families informed as well.
